Expectations and realities, they always play out differently. We often appear, or convince ourselves to be prepared for the worst, but no matter what, when the worst occurs, it has a damaging impact, especially when it occurs from the least expected corner. Often that's the reality we live in.
Pain can often be associated by two types, physical and mental. It is a lot easier to deal with physical suffering and pain, for there are a wide variety of cure mechanisms, but when it comes to mental suffering and pain, it often depends on the response of the individual. The mental suffering an individual undergoes is often longer, deeper, and unbearably painful, which leaves the individual caged within their self. This darkness of negativity becomes an open breeding ground for fear, insecurity and mistrust.
This to me represents the beast, the anti-thesis of human, filled with sorrow, anger, fear, insecurity. To me, the aura of negativity is the cage, that makes one a beast and I have tried to bring out these characteristics.

Each colour represents an emotion- anger, sorrow, psychosis. But these versions, I felt were too judgemental. This got me thinking on what was the core emotion I wanted to associate in this complicated setting. To me, ultimately, it boils down to extreme sorrow, the loss of someone or something, the departure of a part of your life, that gap in one's life is what creates this painful loss.
